Natural Gas Pipeline Traceability in Action

A client temporarily halted MDPE pipe installation (½"–6") across two states after receiving notice of a manufacturer-reported wall thickness issue. This situation highlighted the value of Storti Quality’s tracking and traceability capabilities, supported by inspectors’ daily use of FieldLogIQ.

Because all installations were documented in FieldLogIQ, Storti Quality was able to:

  • Generate targeted reports identifying every location where the affected pipe had been installed.

  • Associate each installed segment with its corresponding pressure tests and inspection records.

  • Summarize total installed footage by state, region, city, and individual address.

The availability of field-verified data provided the client with immediate visibility into the scope of the issue, supported rapid risk assessment, and enabled efficient planning for remediation and replacement activities.

FieldLogIQ, developed by GeoCurrent, the technology division of Magnolia River, is a GIS-based inspection and data management platform built for utility pipeline construction and inspection programs. It equips field teams with standardized, real-time data capture while delivering centralized visibility, reporting, and traceability across utility construction projects.
